Feingold and Baldwin refuse to act even as other Democrats create distance with Menendez
[Madison, Wis.] – Today marks the thirteenth day that Russ Feingold and Tammy Baldwin have refused to return dirty money from Senator Robert Menendez – who was indicted nearly two weeks ago on 14 counts of public corruption. Even as Democrats across the country scramble to distance themselves from Menendez and his pay-to-play politics, Feingold and Baldwin have remained silent. The Republican Party of Wisconsin has repeatedly called for Feingold and Baldwin to return the tainted money.
“By refusing to return dirty money from their corrupt colleague, Russ Feingold and Tammy Baldwin display a questionable lack of leadership,” said Chris Martin, Communications Director for the Republican Party of Wisconsin. “Voters should be alarmed and wonder if Feingold and Baldwin endorse the pay-to-play politics behind these donations.”
