Gov. Tony Evers Must Demand Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s Resignation From the National Governors Association

[Madison, WI] – The concerning allegations continue to mount against New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo. After already facing a federal investigation for allegedly lying to authorities about COVID-19 nursing home deaths in his state, it has recently been revealed that over 15,000 New Yorkers died in nursing homes during the pandemic, although the governor only disclosed 8,500.

This massive loss of life stems from Gov. Cuomo’s order to put COVID-positive patients back into nursing homes. Now, the scandal surrounding Gov. Cuomo’s leadership is growing as women come forward to shed light on the governor’s long history of sexual harassment in the workplace. Meanwhile, Gov. Tony Evers has said nothing about the troubling allegations that continue to surface regarding Gov. Cuomo’s behavior. The Republican Party of Wisconsin released the following statement from Chairman Andrew Hitt:

“A scandal-plagued governor like Andrew Cuomo is unfit to lead the nation’s top executives — and Wisconsinites deserve a governor who will take a stand. Tony Evers has never been shy about taking shots at Republicans. He should condemn Andrew Cuomo’s inappropriate and potentially criminal behavior and demand Cuomo to step down as leader of the National Governors Association.”
