[Madison, WI] – While Tony Evers tries to pass off social engineering and big government programs as “health care,” he’s angering actual health care workers to the point of resignation.
Yesterday, the Wisconsin State Journal reported on Tony Evers and Mandela Barnes’ so-called “Health Equity Council.” The group, which is primarily comprised of Democrat donors, is calling for government handouts and new taxpayer-funded offices for “environmental justice” and “transgender health and safety” under the banner of “health care.” This comes after Evers’ efforts to impose government-run health care in his most recent budget.
Yet actual health care workers aren’t buying Evers’ dishonest agenda. According to WisPolitics:
“The president of the Wisconsin Board of Nursing resigned to protest Gov. Tony Evers’ veto of legislation to allow registered nurses to be licensed as advanced practice nurses.
In his resignation letter, Dr. Peter Kallio wrote the ‘veto appeared politically motivated to appease a small group of doctors who want to dictate nursing practice and that, unfortunately, makes this Board of Nursing ineffective.’ He accused Evers of ‘a pure disregard for our profession.’”
Meanwhile, at the national level, despite Biden’s claim that he will “bring down health care costs,” Democrats are proposing massive increases to the administrative state that will expand the government’s role in health care and cost more than $11 billion over the next ten years.
“Tony Evers and Mandela Barnes are using ‘health equity’ as a trojan horse for bigger government and far-left social policies entirely unrelated to health care,” said Republican Party of Wisconsin Communications Director Anna Kelly. “Wisconsinites will see through their dishonesty.”
