Open Borders Baldwin Leaves America Vulnerable to Terrorism

MADISON, Wis. — The crisis at our southern border continues to worsen with the threat of terrorism on the rise. New data from Customs and Border Patrol reveals that a record 169 suspects on the FBI’s Terror Watch List were encountered at ports of entry along the southern border. 

This news comes only a month after the Department of Homeland Security warned that “terrorists and criminal actors may exploit the elevated flow and increasingly complex security environment to enter the United States.”

While many tried to sound the alarm about this impending disaster, some politicians did nothing but muffle those concerns and obstruct common sense border reforms. Chief among them is Senator Tammy Baldwin. 

• For almost two decades, Tammy Baldwin has voted against funding for a border wall or fence that would prevent unlawful entries by illegal aliens.
• After she voted to overturn President Trump’s border emergency declaration, Baldwin then tried barring federal funds from being used for border security. Even when colleagues offered a compromise amendment, Baldwin voted against authorizing $25 billion to protect our borders. 
• Baldwin directly contributed to the migrant crisis in major American cities by opposing the Stop Dangerous Sanctuary Cities Act. She also opposed the Stop Illegal Entry Act that would have cracked down on dangerous individuals from illegally entering the United States. 

This border crisis could have been averted. But Open Borders Baldwin and her obstinate extremism have left America more vulnerable than ever before.

BOTTOM LINE: For far too long, Tammy Baldwin has risked our southern border and national security for political gain. Wisconsin cannot afford another six years of her in Washington.
