MADISON, Wis. —
Recently, Republican Party of Wisconsin Chairman Brian Schimming was appointed to the Temporary Grassroots Committee for the 2024 Milwaukee Republican National Convention by Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel.
As a lifelong grassroots leader and activist himself, no one is better positioned than Chairman Schimming to bridge the gap between local grassroots activists and the leadership at the RNC. This morning, the committee held its first meeting — looking at the role of the Grassroots Committee from a 30,000 foot view.
The reason it is called a “temporary committee” is that the committee was created by the RNC Chairwoman, not the bylaws of the RNC. The bylaws vest the ability to create committees to the Chair, and they are noted as temporary.
“As a lifelong grassroots activist, I greatly appreciate the assignment to the Grassroots Advisory Committee, said Chairman Brian Schimming. “Wisconsin Republicans have a very engaged and passionate grassroots network and I look forward to showcasing them along with our great state throughout the 2024 cycle. From our local parties to the statewide coalitions, our grassroots play a critical part in making campaigns successful and will be essential to the 2024 Milwaukee convention.”
